The Vilano 5th Wheel by Vanleigh is almost the perfect RV for us. Except for one thing. It is not a Class A!
So I know I have told you that we have been back and forth trying to decide between a 5th Wheel and a Class A. And honestly at this point we have decided that we are buying a Class A. But I wanted to share with you how gorgeous and spacious a 5th Wheel can be on the inside. And if it didn’t mean that we needed a huge pick-up truck to tow it; and if you could use it’s amenities while driving down the road; we would buy the Vilano 5th Wheel by Vanleigh in a heart beat. It is so beautifully appointed and has tons of cabinets for storage. It even has a space in the bedroom where Steve could build me a desk for the computer. But sadly it is missing the features that make a Class A better for us. The experience driving down the road in a Class A with our car towed behind it is just unbeatable. If we had never had that wonderful experience the Vilano would be our choice for sure.
There is only one Vanleigh dealer in South Florida and it’s in Port St. Lucie which is only about a half hour south of where we were staying at the Mellon Patch Inn. Sadly the beaches were closed due to red tide but there were plenty of other things for us to do. So after exploring North Hutchinson Island a little we headed south to check out the Vilano 5th Wheel.
A couple of the things that impressed us the most about the Vilano 5th Wheel by Vanleigh was the quality and attention to detail. The cabinetry was all a gorgeous light maple. The kitchen had an impressive island and there was plenty of counter space which is so important to me since I’m a chef and adore cooking and recipe development. There was even a pantry closet and a huge residential refrigerator! As you can see by my pictures everything you could need was beautifully included inside making it feel like a small condo. It was really tough to walk away from it because it really felt like home. But the search will continue and we have decided we will only look at Class As that are 38-feet or larger and with 4 slides.
That is definitely a beautiful camper. I think you made the right choice though. It would be hard to be stuck in a truck pulling it around and not being able to use it the whole time. My father-in-law had an RV, they traveled all over and loved it. I live in Indiana where the weather changes daily. And yesterday it snowed. So seeing this REALLY gives me spring fever. We love camping and I can’t wait to go. Hope you find the perfect RV. You guys enjoy and be safe out there!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! We learned very quickly with our first RV back in 2006, a 36-foot Damon Intruder Class A, that it’s the most awesome way to travel. You really can’t beat the experience. For me, I love the fact that I can get up and use the bathroom, make lunch, get my husband a bottle of water or do some work on my blog all while Steve is driving down the highway to our next destination. The thought of giving that up in a 5th Wheel was just too much. It’s a Class A for us for sure!!!
