I had not been to Peddler’s Village since I was a teen. When Steve and I saw that there were Sand Sculptures on display at Peddler’s Village, we knew we had to go!

Welcome to beautiful Peddler’s Village in Lahaska PA

Me in a dress with a leaf print, standing by a rail and lots of bushes and trees. I'm waiting to see the Sand Sculptures Peddler's Village

Am I blending in with the landscape?

Peddler’s Village and New Hope are suburbs of Philadelphia. So as soon as I got my driver’s license, at 16, I was happy to drive to the ‘burbs. A bunch of us would pile in the car that I shared with my Mother, and drive to this charming area for some shopping, fun and food.

What I remembered from years ago was walking up and down hilly streets in New Hope and finding lots of boutiques with hand crafted wares. Peddler’s Village in Lahaska PA, on the other hand, was more of a sprawling shopping center. It makes me think of Smithville in New Jersey. There’s rolling lawn, beautiful landscaping. wonderful shops that include galleries, food and spirits. And what shopping mecca would be complete without wonderful restaurants and bars.

Hidden Gems

The day we went was picture perfect. Lots of blue sky with puffy white clouds that intermittently blocked the sun to give us some cooling relief. We meandered along the various paths that led to the shops, wandering in and out and leaving some cash everywhere we went.

Fabulous Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn

Shopping can really work up an appetite. So we popped into Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn. “There motto is Popcorn like you never had before” and it’s true. They start with really good, freshly popped corn and coat it or season it with the flavors of your choice. Clever and quite yummy!!! Sure wish I had some of their popcorn to nibble on right now.

Before we left Peddler’s Village we tried to photograph as many of the wonderful sand sculptures as we could.

The last of the Sand Sculptures Peddler's Village depicts Santa , topless in shorts with sunglasses and a Santa hat sunbathing in front of a towering cake, cupcake and donut.

Sweet Occasions The Lucky Cupcake entry

When we reached the point of being too tired to walk anymore, we headed back to the car. But before we drove back to our park in Hatfield, we took a nostalgic drive through New Hope. It was exactly as I had remembered it. But it was waaaaaaay more crowded. The sleepy little town, that people had never heard of, had become a tourist mecca. Boo hoo….
