Steve and I have been squeezing every second out of each day to work on our RV renovations so we thought it was time to give you an update.

An RV kitchen that has had cabinets painted but missing doors from Our RV Renovations Update

A work in progress.

We bought this RV because we knew it had tons of storage. In fact it has fabulous closet space in the bedroom along with many drawers. There’s a desk in the bedroom where I can work. But best of all there’s a wall of closets and large drawers in the hallway that will make an awesome pantry plus give me lots of room for all of my serving pieces and props for my food photography. We searched for about three years and this 38-foot RV has more storage than any we saw, not matter how big or expensive!!!

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so here are lots of pictures for you to see how we are progressing.

Before

The kitchen prior to renovations with it’s very silly mirror backsplash.

Heavy window treatments and dark brown wood look formica on the dinette table is how our RV looked when we picked it up. The gorgeous hardwood floors were done by the previous owner and do not extend into the bedroom or cockpit area.

View of kitchen sink and countertop from Our RV Renovations Update

The original kitchen with laminate countertop, heavy looking window treatment and pitifully shallow two bowl sink. I couldn’t even get a pasta pot under the faucet to fill it! Fortunately there was a sprayer that I could use to fill the pot with water.

An RV fridge with wood doors and narrow cabinet from Our RV Renovations Update

The before photo of the fridge and narrow pantry cabinet with hall closet and drawers. The 4-foot wide hall closet and drawers will become my pantry and storage. The mirrors will be covered with copper textured panels to match the copper hardware that we added.

The Process Begins

Steve brought the cabinet doors and drawers home to paint. He is having so much fun but working very hard. He spends every moment that he is not working as a handyman doing work on the RV and enjoying every second of it.

The Kitchen

A work in progress. It is so awesome seeing my vision become a reality. It is better than I even imagined it would be!

The kitchen cabinets have been painted and so has the fridge. New copper hardware in the kitchen and pantry.

A Major Change

A white countertop being installed on teal base cabinets from Our RV Renovations Update

Our new white quartz countertop and single bowl deep sink being installed onto our freshly painted base cabinets. The kitchen hardware has all been changed to copper. The new high arching faucet will be matte black and copper!!!

Our gorgeous new white quartz countertop and amazing sink. Can’t wait to have the faucet hooked up so I can use them!

The white countertop really sets off the stove and cabinets. The backsplash is going to be glossy black subway tile with white grout covering the entire wall between the counter and upper cabinets. And hopefully we can find black mini blinds!

The Bedroom and Bath

An RV bedroom from Our RV Renovations Update

The original bedroom had beige laminate and carpet with a headboard that matched the spread. All of the heavy window treatments have been removed. The carpet is gone and will be replace with black and white tile. The headboard is gone and will be replace with artwork. The walls are turquoise the laminate is now the same light aqua as the upper kitchen cabinets. The windows will have white mini blinds. And the bedspread will be replace with a navy quilt. That counter is going to become my office so I can post about all of our adventures.

An RV bathroom from Our RV Renovations Update

As you can see the original bathroom was very blah!

Some of the renovations have been completed in the bathroom. Now the bathroom has a teal countertop, new hardware and, although it was not done when this photo was taken, new towel bar and turquoise walls. There will also be a new faucet installed soon.

The Cockpit

The original cockpit curtains were many shades of tan from the sun fading them.

I made new and very dramatic cockpit curtains which I lined with white black out lining so they won’t fade!

Of course there is still quite a bit to be done before the big reveal. But as they say Rome wasn’t built in a day!
