It took a couple of days for Sandee, Mack, Steve and I to recover from our long and arduous drive from stunning Lake Powell, Utah to our next stop in Colorado. But by Saturday we were all ready to go for brunch at The Diamond Belle Saloon Durango.
Diamond Belle Saloon Durango
We felt like we were in an episode from the old TV show Gunsmoke. I kept looking for Marshall Dillon. Even the servers at The Diamond Belle dress the part. The interior is exactly what you would expect from an old western saloon.
The giant beautiful wooden bar is the focal point of the saloon with a huge array of bottled spirits on display. There’s a loft with more tables that overlook the main dining room below. I could imagine a poker game going on up there!
Our server came to the table clad in a hot pink and black corset, short short skirt and black fish net stockings with black ankle-high booties. We all knew exactly what we wanted to eat.
Steve ordered the cheese omelet that had sautéed mushrooms and sweet peppers. The fluffy omelet was topped with a couple of slices of crispy bacon. Along with that were yummy home fries and toast with fresh creamery butter.
Sandee and Mack both ordered the poached eggs that came with huge portions of those delectable home fries and toast.
And the Eggs Benedict lover that I am, ordered the traditional eggs benedict. My eggs were nice and runny and the hollandaise good and lemony. Even the coffee was good! By the time we polished off brunch we quite full and happy to take a nice long walk to explore what Durango might have in store for us!
