Delightful Parowań, Utah wasn’t even on our radar until we were looking for a campground halfway between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.
At first we thought we’d stay a few days near each of those parks. But every campground that was close by the national parks came with a very steep nightly rate. Even with their high price those parks were all booked up.
Since our travel companions Sandee and Mack were meeting up with us for almost 3 weeks we wanted sites next to each other. And that narrowed our choices! So we decided to change direction and look for a place somewhere in the middle. That’s when found Painted Hills RV Resort. It fit all of our criteria. It was in the perfect location, reasonably priced, had full hook-ups with 50 amp service and had two spots next to each other. We immediately booked 9 days there.
Parowań turned out to be an ideal spot. As we have done before, we parked in opposite directions so that our RV entry doors were facing each other. Between our rigs we had picnic tables and plenty of room to enjoy the cool evening breezes.
When we needed to go food shopping there Parowan Market just a few minutes away. Not only did they stock pretty much everything we needed, but they had awesome prices on meat. I actually stocked up on beautiful boneless ribeyes.
There was so much to explore nearby such as the Petroglyphs and the northern part of Zion NP’s Kolob Canyons. Plus it was an easy drive to Bryce, Cedar Breaks, Brians Head and Zion.
As if all of that wasn’t enough to recommend delightful Parowań, Utah, there was tasty and abundant food at DeDe’s Farmhouse Café and amazing Cinnamon Buns at gas station. I mean, where else would you expect decadent sweets?
One day, while staying there Steve and I went off on our own to visit a friend we hadn’t seen in eons. While we were reconnecting with Bruce and his wonderful wife Sheral at their exquisite log home in Duck Creek Village, Sandee and Mack went to DeDe’s for lunch. When we got back they couldn’t stop raving about hoe delicious their burgers were.
So of course, we made it a point to go to DeDe’s before we left Parowań. Our cheeseburgers and fries were really quite yummy and the price was ridiculously inexpensive. A total win/win in my book!
And since we had already become addicted to those gas station cinnamon buns, we went back for a few of Southern Country Bakery’s Caramel Toffee Cinnamon Buns. Steve and I shared one immediately and put the rest in the freezer for when our craving hit again. It was the perfect sweet ending to our nine days in delightful Parowań, Utah!!!
