Shrimp Tacos

After a fabulous month in the Philly area, Steve and I headed to the shore for a couple more months of visiting with family and friends there. A couple weeks after settling in at Atlantic Blueberry RV Park, our dear friend Jackie came for a visit. She was also there to help celebrate our “sister” Sheri’s birthday at a surprise party given by Sheri’s daughter Ashley. It was definitely fun hiding Jackie, plus Steve and I didn’t have to share her with anyone until the party.

Once all of the hoopla was over, Jackie, Sheri, Steve and I wanted to continue the celebrating so we went out to dinner. Since Sheri lives in a condo on the boardwalk we chose a place we could walk to from her home. Chickie’s and Pete’s was the perfect spot.

The Three Sisters and Steve

The restaurant ambiance is surprisingly chill, considering that it’s inside a casino hotel. We really liked the casual atmosphere and felt comfortable and well taken care of.

The menu is jam packed with delicious sounding items. There were appetizers galore, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, pete-zza and tons of high-end seafood entrées. Between chatting and reading the menu we took quite a while to decide what to order. Our server never rushed us. We all appreciated that we were left to just enjoy being together.

Chickie’s and Pete’s Crabfries

We all agreed to start off with some of Chickie’s and Pete’s World Famous Crabfries served with a pair of cheese sauces. These fries are legendary. They look like your everyday crinkle fry but the magic is in the seasoning. The crispy, golden fries are seasoned with crab seasoning that tasted like Old Bay to me.

Shrimp Tacos

For my main course I ordered the Shrimp Tacos. Two huge tortillas were filled to over flowing with shrimp, pico de gallo, roasted corn, cilantro, jalapeños and chipotle lime crema. It was filling and quite delicious. I loved the very fresh pico de gallo and succulent shrimp. The sweetness of the roasted corn was perfect to temper the heat of the jalapeño.

But I’m sorry that I cannot report and anyone else’s meal. We had lots of wine and a really good time!!! But because of that I can’t remember past my tacos. And neither can anyone else.
