It’s been years since we’ve been to Bimini Twist Restaurant in WPB FL for dinner. So when friends who were former neighbors, Faith and Thomas, invited us to meet them there for dinner, we were thrilled.
When we lived in the area, Bimini Twist was one of our favorite places for dinner. What we loved was the relaxed, tropical atmosphere and the consistently delicious food. It was so wonderful to see that nothing has changed. Same delightful ambiance. Exciting and yummy food. Fabulous and friendly service staff. All of that adds up to the perfect formula for a successful restaurant that has been serving awesome meals since October 2002.
This family owned and operated establishment has repeatedly been ranked as one of the 10 Top Best Seafood Restaurants in South Florida! And it’s no wonder. All of the dishes coming out of their kitchen is made to order using the freshest ingredients possible. Daily deliveries assures that!
But Bimini Twist Restaurant WPB FL, is not just a place for great seafood. They also offer delectable Filet Mignon, NY Strips, Delmonico Ribeyes and Pork Chops all aged and grilled to perfection. And if none of that appeals to you, their Pasta, Chicken and Veggie options surely will.
Among other accolades, Bimini Twist Restaurant has been voted Best Date Night Restaurant by the followers of The Scout Guide Palm Beach, because their ambiance both indoors and on their patio, is incomparable.
Even on a Tuesday night the restaurant was buzzing. The bar was full, tables and booths were packed with happy diners enjoying delicious food. You could hear people chatting away, but that chatter was at a level that still allowed us to be able to hear what our friends were saying. And no one needed to shout to be heard.
Apparently our friends are regulars at Bimini Twist because the manager Paul welcomed them by name. Paul took great care to let us all know that he personally wanted us to enjoy every dish with relish.
We started off with great cocktails and a dinner sized order of French style Mussels sautéed in a creamy white sauce and garlic ciabatta bread to soak up all of that luscious sauce. Since it was a dinner, even though for us a starter, it also came with a side. Faith insisted that the Spinach Maria was the side we had to have. The mussels were spectacular. But the Spinach Maria was so amazing that we all ordered it again as one of our sides with our entrées!
For our main courses we all ordered something different. The portions were enormous, so we all tasted each others meals. There wasn’t one dish that I wouldn’t order next time. Every plate was fabulous.
Faith had the locally caught fresh Yellowtail Snapper that was sautéed in lemon, white wine and butter. Then it was crowned with lots of jumbo lump crabmeat and Bearnaise sauce.
Thomas ordered the Grilled Chilean Sea Bass with Asian Flavors that made it a knock out.
Steve decided on the White Clam Risotto with Shrimp. The presentation was quite unique for risotto. The risotto itself was formed into a long log which was topped with lots of clams. On top of all of that were 6 perfectly grilled very large shrimp and everything was anointed with white wine, lemon, butter and parmigiano cheese. We were all lucky that he even let us have a taste. It was that good.
I’m a tuna lover. From canned to sushi grade Ahi, I love it all. So of course I ordered the tuna. There were 2 tuna choices. Since I make Sesame Seared Tuna at home quite often, I opted for the Blackened Ahi Tuna which was served just the way I like it – barely cooked at all. This was a whopping 1/2 pound of sushi grade ahi tuna blackened on the outside, cool on the inside, which was drizzled with sweet chili and wasabi cream sauce, and served with plenty of rosy pink pickled ginger. I could only eat half my tuna. But it was too good to go to waste. So I took mine home for lunch the next day.
After our extraordinary meal and lots of rounds of drinks, we were all too full for dessert. But Paul insisted that we need it and he sent over not one, but two for us to share. The Apple Pie and Bread Pudding were far too delicious to pass up. Especially with all of the creamy dreamy vanilla ice cream that came with them. So we all had a taste or two of both. Then we won the prize. We got to take both of those yummy sweet endings home to enjoy for the next couple of days.
When we were brought the bag with the desserts to take home, we discovered there were also 2 containers of that scrumptious Spinach Maria. I have to figure out how to make that at home. I promise that when I do, I will share the recipe with you!!!
If you are anywhere within driving distance of western WPB, FL, you owe it to yourself to go to Bimini Twist Restaurant for an awesome dining experience. You won’t be sorry. Pinky swear promise.
