Steve and I thought it was time to give you another RV renovations update!
A labor of love
For us working on the RV is the only bright light in a world turned upside down by COVID-19. It gives us a chance to get out of the house while still keeping our distance from everyone else. And somehow just being in the RV puts much needed smiles on our faces. Sadly we have had to cancel a couple of trips that were planned but it is much better to stay safe and healthy than risk getting sick in order to have an adventure. What makes us really sad is that we were supposed to meet our son and daughter in law in Charleston, and now it does not look like we are going to get to see them for awhile. Besides, what good is visiting Charleston if we can’t go anywhere to sightsee or dine?
Finishing touches
So we are staying put. We’re putting the finishing touches on the RV, keeping up with work and getting our home ready to sell. Eventually we will be on the road full time! Unfortunately it looks like it won’t be by mid May unless things change dramatically.
Our RV has a name
Anyway, back to the renovations and all things RV. As many of you know we have chosen a name for our RV from the long list of submissions. And that name is Ladybug! It is perfect really. I have always loved ladybugs. They are cute and harmless. They flit from place to place just like The Traveling Locavores do. As a teen, my favorite clothing store was Ladybug. All the girls shopped there and proudly wore the little ladybug pin that came with every purchase. But here’s the real kicker in all of this. When we picked up the RV in Franklin, North Carolina we soon realized that we were inundated with ladybugs. Thousands of them. Once home in Florida Steve was able to finally get rid of all of them. Even though I love ladybugs, 1000’s of them is just too much! I’m told they are good luck. If that is so then Ladybug is going to be very, very lucky!!!
Our new flat towable car
On Valentine’s Day Steve and I bought a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite because it can be flat towed behind the RV. Last week we had the base plates and the brake buddy installed, so it’s all ready to be hooked up to our Blue Ox tow bar.
Pictures speak louder than words
Among the newest items completed the floors are finished, a lot of art work has been hung, most of the mini-blinds are up, the pantry closet is complete and too much more to list. I think our pictures can show you better than I can.
